Hey guys,
From now on, this journal will be almost entirely FRIENDS ONLY, and I'm also in the process of converting my older entries from Public to Friends Only. The main reason is that the more I start thinking seriously about my career, the more I realize how much information is out there about me on the internet, and that it is becomming increasingly common for companies to run background checks on prospective employees. So if you still would like to be granted access...
join LJ and drop me a comment.
This realization was partially due to the fact that I've spent the past two days at Disneyland's Career Center, applying for a job at the theme park. It's a pretty extensive process that includes a lot of waiting-around time... as is any audition. When I came back today for an interview, I was offered an internship at Disneyland from June until January '07 that would earn me 12 college credits. While I thought it was a fabulous opportunity (fabulous enough to not graduate after junior year?), I explained that my college program is an acting conservatory that I must attend for three consecutive years in order to graduate and was put back into the pool of applicants for summer employment.
Anyway, it sounds like I'm pretty much hired, but because I applied so late in the summer, am going back to school so early (August 25 because I'm a mentor for freshman orientation), and need to take off 10 days for the Seth Riggs Summer Vocal Program, it's not a for-sure thing that I'll be able to do Attractions. However, I'm totally open to taking any job in the park. I'll know for sure by Friday. We'll see what happens.
