Lizbet...hasn't had the best day, after all.

That "serious discussion" her mother wanted to have? Oh boy. Well, she wasn't in trouble...but Dr Weir feels that her daughter has been getting in over her head in a lot of ways, and is too young (and maybe a little too sheltered in the past) to understand all the repurcussions.

Her involvement with this twenty-something from another universe, Dr Weir decides, is just inappropriate. 'Dear, you're very mature, but you're still a little girl in so many ways.'

They go over a lot of things, and Lizbet makes all kinds of agreements, but nothing she says stops her mother confiscating her pinpoint and explaining that she needs to end things with Diwaniya. There'll be other boys -- boys her own age, who she will not get to spend every other night with, thank you.

When it becomes clear she's not getting her pinpoint back even for this, Lizbet leaves a message on Diwaniya's, explaining that he needs to come and see her. Her mother retreats to her study, which isn't unusual, and Lizbet clenches and relaxes her fists while she waits.
