Breitenbush!!!!

So, I was lucky enough to have a visit this month by my BFF Jenna. Jenna, a slacker without a job, took a soul-searching cross-country roadtrip and her first stop was my house! With her here, I thought it would be a good opportunity to do one of my favorite things- visit a mineral spring. I have been to Breitenbush Hot Springs before, but at a totally different time of year- winter. Breitenbush in the fall is just as fun, but substantially less muddy.

So this place basically has 4 tiled tubs and three natural pools, which look like this one, all of varying hotness. The first night, Jenna and I went out to the "Sacred Pool" which is a no-talking area. I had not been in this one before, and I nearly died when I stepped in- IT WAS HOOOOOOTTTTT! But I got used to it. And it was beautiful- it was a clear night with a million stars. This pool is located right next to a rushing river.

We stayed in this little cabin.

There is a labyrinth you can walk in. I tried to get Jenna to do it, but she refused. She is often difficult. So, I made her pretend to do it for the sake of documentation.

We had such a great time. I've decided that Breitenbush is a great place to come when it is cold in Oregon because of the cozy cabins and hot water. I think I still prefer Stewart Springs during the summer because it is so fun to camp and jump into the creek. Namaste.
