the worst night of my life this year

last night went from amazingly super awesome to the worst night i have had in portland thus far. it started out normal enough, happy hour at east burn. then we went to check out a new place close by called the standard which is now totally my new favorite place. huge, cheap drinks, a photobooth, a real jukebox, tons of tables, booths and an outside patio not to mention the awesome broken mirror backdrop thing behind the bar and the super awesome bar itself which has more cracked mirrors and a fancy wooden raililng. on top of all that, there is a pool table and shuffleboard and the bartender was really nice and remembered my name. i am so totally going to go there again and again and again. aaaaanyways. so we decided we wanted to do karaoke. so then we went to chopsticks. it was packed to the brim and we immediately wanted to leave. however, sneaky little jamie already sat at the bar, ordered a drink and food while the rest of us were already ready to leave. a total jerkface was talking to jamie and the bartender was hitting on her. we finally convinced her to leave and decided to go to goodfoot for dancing. they are known for being one of the few dancing places around here and none of us had been there to go dancing. so amy and jamie left and it was just me and missy and it was like 1230. so we get there, pay the $4 cover that the doorguy wouldnt let us get out of. the music was pretty terrible, according to their website its supposed to be funk soul and breakbeats. whatever it was, it sucked. so no matter where we were or what we were doing, people kept bumping into me. whatever, i should be used to that from lipstick etc, but it was so fucking irritating. when i went to go to the bathroom, some dude straight up RAN right into me, i am surprised i didnt fall over and my face was stinging for like 20 minutes. we decided to talk to the doorguy and try to go upstairs instead to the other part of the bar. the doorguy says you have to finish your beer then you can go upstairs. so we just stood there and talked to the door guy for a while. then a song came on that wasnt terrible, and we decided to dance. so immediately as we get to the edge of the dance area, some dude spilled the half of a beer that i had left after all the other times people bumped into me and spilled my beer, ALL OVER ME. my face was soaked and so was the rest of me. i wanted to just die right there. luckily this guy was nice enough to apologize, buy me a new beer, and also tried to clean off my glasses while i tried really hard not to just cry and run outside. so we went back to talk/complain to the doorguy again. when missy went to the bathroom he gave me our cover money back. then when we finished our drinks, we decided to leave, were outside and missy forgot to close her card. so she went back in and then came back out and i had to go back in to tell the bartender that i did not order 5 shots or whatever it was she was accusing us of, she was a total bitch. anyways, got home, puked, and passed out with my bedside lamp on. today i feel like death. actually feeling ok now, but slept till 1 and then felt like dying most of the day while watching the olympics. come to think of it, the last time i was at goodfoot, i got really sad and felt sick for no reason and snuck out and walked home. another terrible time. the moral of this story is that i am never going to goodfoot ever again unless it is a REALLY IMPORTANT reason. also, DANCING in this town is a joke.

weekend, jerks, portland
