hang onto your ego
with the $100 we received for chrismtas from brians moms boyfriend, we decided to treat ourselves to a delicious dinner at Scott's seafood. we had pretty much the best meal ever, and it cost less than we expected. i had the special: mahi mahi with spicy and sweet mole sauce, cheesy mashed potatos that were grilled a little for a crispy outside, and garlicy spinach. brian had the crab bisque to start, which was amazing, and for dinner he had the seared ahi which came with a wasabi vinaigrette and cucumber salad and something else i forget. it was all super delicious. i highly recommend going there if you havent already been.
with the $100 gift card we received for ikea from brians dad, we bought the dresser we have been meaning to get for like 2 years and put it together last night instead of going out dancing and drinking. i think it was a good choice, cuz i have a lot of running around to do today and it would really suck if i was hungover.
i think i forgot to mention that about a week ago i read Pulp by Charles Bukowski. only the second of his books i have read, and i loved it. he is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. he hates everyone, i love it. now i am reading Copping Free by Matthew Carnahan. kind of strange, not sure yet if i like it enough to recommend it. next up, i will be reading the Diane Arbus biography as i bought it for myself for christmas. yay.
so i have been listening to the beach boys pet sounds for the past couple days, and i have to say that i love it a lot, but it is way too short.
im watching a show about the most horrific hollywood murders. interesting. can you guess what #1 is? i knew what it would be as soon as i turned on this show. how this is appropriate new years eve tv scheduling, i am not quite sure.
tonight is a fun zombie new years party, preparty at my house. i am making lasagna and it will be delicious even if i have to leave mushrooms out of half of it for picky darrell. i hope all of you have a fun happy safe new years eve. take a cab!
