Yes, even with temperatures back down below freezing for our daytime high, there was another sure sign of spring this morning. I got up this morning, wandered, sleepy-eyed, into the bathroom. Slightly more awake, I wandered back out through the kitchen and spotted something small on the floor. Looking more closely... a mouse. Yes, spring is here, one of the male cats has started fetching in mice for the amusement of the wee girl kitty.
The poor little thing was so scared it didn't even try to run when I touched it. I picked it up gently in the bottom of my flannel nightgown, slid on some slippers and took the poor little thing outdoors. Since all cats were now either gathered around the dishes anticipating breakfast or snoozing on various perches in the living room, it had plenty of time to make an escape.
Oh, and we have ants in the kitchen, too.
Yes, spring is well on the way. :)
This weekend will be nothing but work, sleep and getting ready to head to TO next week. I will be looking forward to some relaxing.
Mind you, this week has been nice. Andy is off for March Break and we've been taking turns making dinner. Real dinners instead of 'damn-I'm-hungry-but-it's-nearly-11 pm-so-what-can-we-fix-in-20-minutes-dinner' that we usually have.
Yes, we usually eat dinner at 11 pm, as Andy generally gets home around 10:30. And half the time I don't get home until 1 am, so it's sandwiches or, if I'm really lucky, nuking leftovers from the fridge.
Tired now, but still have half of Capote left to watch, along with a couple other movies. Maybe I'll at least get through Capote before I doze off.
Oooohh, kitty staredown in the living room. Off to see if they're going to need a referee. :)
