Fingers crossed

Andy is gone to Chapters Pinecrest in search of their new Kobo eReader. All Chapters and affiliated stores have sold out this week except for 2 left at Pinecrest and 2 in Barrhaven. Wouldn't ask anyone to bus to Barrhaven from here for anything except maybe life or death. Even then... busing to Barrhaven is a pain if you're in a hurry - and he is. :)

I was going to buy myself one of these and just ask for money for my birthday and put it towards the credit card after purchase. Andy said to just tell him what I wanted and he'd buy it. I said it was too expensive but apparently he doesn't think so. Granted it's a combined gift for Mother's Day/birthday. Not complaining, that's for sure. Comes loaded with 100 classics - lots of Austen and Dickens. It's also getting really good reviews from folks who've already bought theirs.

Lobsterfest at Andy's work yesterday. He brought 2 1/2 left over lobsters. Who leaves lobster? Again, not really complaining. Nyssa will be down shortly and we will feast on lobster for lunch.

Am on call tonight but considering who is on the schedule I'm pretty sure I'll be free to watch the stack of movies on my table and play with my new toy (assuming he gets to the store before they're gone).

Work was much better this week. Thank God!

My team has not yet gone down in flames, so still much invested in hockey playoffs. I'm amazed we've made it this far, since we've got very good players out with injuries. Gagne was back for last night's game and that is probably what saved us from being wiped out without a win in the second round. Only twice has a team ever come back to win from a 3-0 deficit. Wonder if the Flyers have what it takes to make that happen? Even I wouldn't put money on it. I'm loyal to my team, but I'm also realistic.

Trip to Vegas in a month, let the countdown begin. Got a good price on hotel. Procrastinating paid off. Not only did we get the nice, low internet rate ($36/night, $60 for the Friday), but we're getting one of those nights free. Continental was very nice about changing our flight to an earlier arrival time without charging us, too, so arriving at 7 p.m. instead of 11. Scored some good coupons at restaurant.com, as well. Got those at a discount on top of their already low price. Have 2 $25 coupons (Florida Cafe and RM Seafood) and 1 for $50 (Fleur de Lys) - all for a whopping $12. I am the queen of cheap! Well, Fleur de Lys is very expensive to start with, so we're not sure we will use that one. Even if we don't, it's only $6. And we can always give it away. I'm sure someone in Vegas could use it.

Okay, off to watch a movie and wait for the guy to come and repair our hot water heater.
