Day off
Am just in the nick of time. I think I did get some work done last night, somewhere between the sniffling, sneezing and using up half a box of tissues. This morning I just feel like my head is going to explode. Or implode. Who knows. I believe there may be a slight fever in there somewhere, too.
I'll be getting dressed and going out later anyway. I want to get movies from work. Next week's release will arrive at the store today, hence my not bringing things home last night. Well, I bought movies yesterday, but that's a whole other story - 9 classic films for $70. Yeah, $70 I didn't really have budgeted for movies. But seriously, someone traded in some very good stuff - High Society, It Happened One Night, Misfits, Easter Parade, Shane, They Were Expendable, Touch of Evil, etc. Still have a few more I couldn't afford stuck in the hold cupboard. But I still need to preview next week's movies, so off to work I will be heading.
Also want to stop at the grocery store and buy comfort food type things. I have crackers and a red pepper spread that Shawnda put in my stocking at Christmas. Perhaps some cheese to go with that. Maybe some couscous salad if they have that. English muffins would nice. Have a craving for side pork, too. Yeah, 'cause that's a good, healthy lunch - side pork with English muffins slathered with peanut butter and homemade jam. Actually, sounds really good to me. Not healthy, for sure, but very tasty. :D
Have bought tickets for San Antonio. Arrive there very late on the 17th, depart back to the snow on the 24th. Cheap, cheap airfare. $100 less than last year! And barely $100 more than bus fare, so how could I not fly?
Still looking at tickets for Nyssa's and my vacation to Vegas in June. Prices that were at around $600-700 per person before the holidays are now down below $500 each. Seriously, Air Canada wants more than that just far the airfare! Right now we're looking at about $920 for the both of us. It dipped down to $879 a couple days ago but by the time Nyssa brought me her passport and I filled out the forms it had gone back up. Will keep watching and book as soon as it drops again. Or not. Honestly, $920 is damn good for 2 airfares and 5 nights in a hotel. If anyone cares to join us for 5 days of eating your way through Vegas, feel free. Trip dates are June 7-12. Like New Orleans, this trip is going to be all about the food. Oh, yeah, we'll throw some money away on slot machines, but it's really about eating. You know me, it's always about food. :D
