Really twitter?

Twitter has a hashtag that is now trending here in the US. It supports domestic violence against women, and I find it disgusting. When I looked up the procedure to report it, I found none.

I can't even imagine why this is okay. Twitter needs to remove the tag ASAP.

I get all my good news from Wil Wheaton, lol.

Freedom of speech, I guess, but stupid they are allowing one and not the other.

Twitter fail.

Just because we have freedom on speech doesn't mean that we should use it. The hashtag supports violence against women, and it should be blocked from the list of trending topics.

(I have women in her family who were beaten by their men.)

And yes, Wil is CNN for fandom!

Not saying I agree with it but when you start restricting free speech... it's just a slippery slope. There are a lot of things people say that I don't agree with (Fred Phelps and his idiot "church" being a big one) but I support their right to say it.

The beating women thing borders on hate speech, though (although the crap WBC spouts is hate speech, too, but it's still allowed... sadly).

Free speech or no, it should still be banned as a trending topic, as it supports violence. I've read some of the comments, and they are nasty. Keeping it on the list of approved trending topics is tantamount to saying that twitter supports it.
