I saw Harry Potter today!

So. I've made no secret out of that fact that a large majority of the final book pissed me off. The cheesy epilogue, the wanderings through the woods, the off-screen deaths and subsequent handwaves... But I really enjoyed the movies!

They took some things out that I really miss. Percy, for example. While he's in the film, there is no highlighted interaction between him and his family. His entire subplot in the films was shortchanged, and that was a shame. Percy's return to the family fold at such a critical time was a key moment for the Weasleys.

But anyway. I LOVED Neville in the film, and I love the hints at Neville/Luna. That just made me smile, as they would be perfect for each other. There was a thunder of applause in the theater when he killed the snake. I would totally read a series of books featuring Neville and Luna.

I loved the scene between Harry and the Grey Lady. I don't have anything profound to say about it. I just liked it.

Molly's "Not my daughter bitch" got a lot of applause and cheering in our theater.

The scene of Harry seeing the bodies was... better than in the book, but the deaths still felt kind of meh to me. I did like the moments between the twins before the battle and Remus and Tonks during the battle.

I forgot where Hagrid was until he showed up.

Professor McGonnagal rocked.

Some nice moments between the trio. Those three (and Matthew and Tom) have really grown up to be tremendous actors.

I can't remember at what point I started openly sobbing, but I'm guessing I was in tears for the last third of the movie.

I've been hearing mixed reviews about Snape, but I have to say that i thought it worked.

I liked the handling of the Malfoys, though Draco looked ridiculous in the epilogue. Of course, Ron looked like a 70s lounge singer. That hair. D:

Anyway, great end to a beloved series!
