Day 8 - Do you write OCs? And if so, what do you do to make certain they're not Mary Sues, and if not, explain your thoughts on OCs.In fanfic? Hardly ever. I'm writing fanfic because I love the source material and want to work with those characters or explore missed opportunities. I just don't see the point of using original characters in fanfic

I definitely like your take on this one. Sometimes they're needed, but they shouldn't take over major positions in the fic.

I'm the same, very rarely write OCs unless they're necessary to move the story along or explain something about the character's background
