30-Day Fic Meme and Other Stuff
1. I made the difficult decision to drop out of the vacationthon fic exchange. I've never dropped out of anything like this, but I feel like I need to take better care of myself, and that exchange, while I was looking forward to it, is one of the things I can easily divest myself of without a major problem.
2. I am signed up for guesswhat10in10, and my claim is Jared Padalecki. It's like other icons challenges, but the catch is the mod provides the photos you have to use, and those photos then have to fit the theme. One of my themes... full body. BWAHAHA! I have to fit Jared's entire giant-like form into one tiny icon. O_o I did it, but he's really tiny.
3. From the looks of the poll I did, most of you are favoring the small town romance for my Chris/Steve RPF big bang story. I have some ideas for it and will start plotting!
4. I'm still excited about the upcoming NEW Leverage. Anyone else excited?
5. I am determined to finish one of those 30 Day Memes. This one is about fanfic, and I snagged it from jennickels:
Day 1 - How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?
Well, I've been a writer since I could spell. The first "fandom" I wrote for was RPF. Really. I had a crush on a cute boy in the first grade, and I wrote a story about him and his favorite fire engine. (Not that kind of story, you gutter-minds. I was six!) Anyway, it was all of a page in my kiddie-scrawl, but my teacher took the story home and made a copy of it and encouraged me to keep writing.
The first real fandom I wrote fic in, though, was Star Trek when I was in the sixth grade. This was way before the internet. My best friend David and I used to make up stories for TOS and later TNG. V: The Miniseries followed thereafter.
My first internet fic fandom was probably the X-Men (comic verse) and related titles. I wrote a smattering of Sean/Emma stories. That was followed by CSI (all series).
What was it about any of those fandoms that pulled me in? The dual pull characterization and lost possibilities. Except for that first story about the boy and his fire engine. That was just about a cute guy. ;)

19 - When you have bunnies, do you sit down and start writing right away, or do you write down the idea for further use?
