My day so far, and a plea for ideas
So. I got myself out of bed after barely any sleep, and I got myself to school. The first class went pretty well, and so I headed to the next class. One of the students wandered in and told me that someone had called in a bomb threat at the school next door. I investigated and discovered that the school next door (and one of our subsidiary buildings) had to be evacuated. Meanwhile, we're all blissfully unaware at the campus next door.
Needless to say that my students who had been evacuated from our subsidiary building were bouncing off the walls by the time they got to my class.
And I was supposed to tutor at the school that had to be evacuated until 5 pm tonight. So... I'm home.
In other news, I have most of my au_bingo stories figured out with one exception. The prompt is Major Historical Event Changed. I can't come up with anything I like. Ideas? I do NOT want to do a "What if WWII had ended differently" fic. Just no. Someone had suggested "What if Prohibition had never ended," but I'm also doing a 1920s fic, and that will be centered around Prohibition. So I'm stumped. Can anyone think of a historical event that I could alter?
I''m toying with asking the mods if I can alter a historical event in a fandom's canon--The Federation was never formed in Star Trek or something. IDEK!
