Summary: After the events of "Enemy at the Gate," Major Evan Lorne takes Sheppard and company to meet his San Francisco-based cousins, Piper, Phoebe, and Paige.
Notes: I wrote this for the Fancy Meeting You Here Challenge at stargateland. It works under the assumption that Evan is actually a cousin of the Charmed Ones. Just go with it, lol.

Major Evan Lorne stood on the sidewalk and stared up at the familiar house with more than a little trepidation. When he was a boy, he used to love visiting Halliwell manor-his mother’s side of the family was always so much more interesting than his dad’s rather ordinary relatives-though neither Evan nor his cousins had realized exactly how extraordinary any of them were until they had all gotten much older. Right now, though, Evan wondered if ordinary would be the better choice.

He was pulled out of his internal thoughts when Teyla walked over to him. “I appreciate you taking the time to show us around San Francisco, Major,” she said. “I am excited to learn more about your home. And of course, to meet your family.”

Evan grinned at Teyla. “I’m just glad we’re all still alive for the tour.”

Rodney shot a glare at Sheppard. “Well, we’ll all have a much longer shelf life if someone stops trying to blow himself up every time we fight the Wraith.”

Sheppard shoved his hands into his pockets. “I don’t do it every time. Just sometimes.” He rocked back on the heels of his feet. “I’m just glad you guys showed up to save the day.”

“Just another day in Atlantis,” Evan said with a smile.

About then, the front door of Halliwell manor flung open, and Evan’s cousin Phoebe rocketed down the walkway into his arms. “Evan!”

Ronon smirked. “Guess they’re glad to see you.”

Evan nodded slightly, but he didn’t answer, because his ability to breath was being obstructed by Phoebe’s arms around his ribs. He reached up and tapped her shoulders.

With a grin, Phoebe loosened her grip and poked Lorne in the stomach. She ran her eyes up and down Ronon’s body. “Well, you’re a big boy,” she said in a voice that Evan could only describe as seductive. “I’m Phoebe.” She leaned closer to Evan. “Is he one of the… you know?”

Evan cleared his throat. “Uh, can we go inside?”

“Yeah, honey,” she said, dragging him by the arm. “Dinner should be about ready. Piper has been cooking like a madwoman all afternoon. She has enough food in there to feed an army. Or an air force.” She giggled, and Evan pinched the bridge of his nose.

Once she shuttled Evan and the others into the living room, Phoebe excused herself and darted toward the kitchen.

“Major,” Sheppard said in his best authoritative voice. “What did she mean by her comment out there?”

Evan ran his fingers through his hair. He knew he should have addressed this before they left Atlantis, but he had hoped it wouldn’t come up. “Uh… my cousins sort of… know what I do for a living.”

Sheppard took a step forward. “And how do they know?”

“There were a few incidents.”

“Incidents?”

As Evan was starting to feel the urge to crawl into the woodwork, his cousin Piper walked briskly into the room. “Only one of those incidents was our fault,” she announced. Turning to cast a glare at Phoebe, she added, “Though some of us were more to blame than others.”

Phoebe winced. “I said I was sorry.”

Evan licked his lips. “General O’Neill was very understanding about the whole thing,” he said. “They’re all cleared.”

Sheppard relaxed a bit. “Well, I guess that means we don’t have to be all cloak and dagger.” He held out his hand. “I’m Lt. Colonel John Sheppard.”

Piper shook his hand and smiled. “And the others are Rodney, Teyla, and Ronon. I recognize you all from Evan’s art.”

Evan breathed a sigh of relief and watched as Piper and Phoebe chatted warmly with Sheppard and the others. Maybe this would be okay after all.

After a few moments, Teyla wandered over to him. “Did you not say you had three cousins?”

“Yeah,” Evan said. “There’s Paige, too. I didn’t grow up around her, but we’ve gotten to know each other in the past few years.” He turned to Piper. “She gonna be here?”

Piper made a face. “She should be here already. She’d better get her butt here by the time I serve dinner. Oh, by the way, Leo’s not going to be here. He’s… away on business again.”

“I know how that is,” Evan said.

They were sitting around in the living room, waiting for Piper to put the finishing touches on dinner when Sheppard leaned forward. “So Major. What kind of incidents?”

Evan grinned just a little too broadly. “Well, sir…”

Before Evan had to cough up an explanation, a large clatter erupted from the foyer, and he could hear his cousin Paige yell, “Get back here right now!”

A childlike giggle echoed through the manor, and suddenly, what could only be described as a living, breathing teddy bear ran into the living room, jumping onto the back of the chair occupied by Sheppard. Paige followed close behind, breathlessly stopping when she realized she had an audience.

“Uh, hi,” she said, waving.

“Piper!” Phoebe yelled. “We have a problem.”

“Oh, it’s no problem,” Paige said brightly. “I’ll take care of this in a jiffy.”

Evan ran his finger through his hair as Sheppard, Ronon, and Rodney stared dumbfounded at the giggling teddy bear. Teyla simply gazed at the new arrivals as if Evan’s cousins chasing sentient teddy bears was the most normal thing in the world.

His eyes wider than usual, Sheppard cocked his head at Evan. “So… incidents?”

“Yes sir,” Evan said. “Incidents.”
