The past few days

I should probably post some kind of real life update, since I haven't done that in a while. Okay, there might be some fandom in the mix, too.

A couple of days ago, I met some peeps at Chipotle for dinner. It was Jessica, Keisha and her husband, Brindi, Andrew, Yvonne, and her kids. Since Keisha is moving to Thailand soon, this was probably the last time I'll see her in a while. There's a pool party coming up that both of us were invited to, but it's a bit of a drive, so I don't think either of us are going to go. It's going to be weird not having her around. I've known her for a decade. We went through college together, and we've worked at a couple of the same places.

Yesterday, I had planned to tweak some of my original fiction and send it out, but I sent myself the wrong copy of the story I wanted to work on. I can't remember exactly why I did it, but when I started writing an additional scene to the story--one that fleshed it out and gave depth to the character's motivation, I decided to put it in a new document. Without those revisions, I couldn't touch the story. Ah well. I guess I'll work on it tomorrow if I have time.

Today, I went to Applebees and had some yummy food but did little else. I intended to be a lot more productive than I was today, but decided I needed to relaxation time to clear my head.

It seems to have worked, because we just had a thunderstorm (which drove me off me off the internet), and while I listened to the rain, I wrote eight handwritten pages of a Nate/Eliot story. \o/ I was initially going to write a post-ep to "The Studio Job," but the story turned into a post-ep for "The Studio Job" and "The Gone Fishin' Job." I have to mess around with it, but it's nearly done.

Speaking of crappy ass thunderstorms, we're coming up on Hall of Fame Week in my area, and I just know the rain is going to wreck all the good activities. I don't think we've been able to have the Balloon Invitational one time in the past few years without rain or cloudy skies. *shakes fist at Ohio weather*

I'm supposed to go to my cousin's going away party next week (she's moving to Savannah). Hopefully everything goes according to plan. It might be my last opportunity to see her for a while, and as I mentioned earlier, we're more like siblings than cousins. On the other hand, I'm a little more willing to consider the University of Georgia as an option now. Not that I wasn't before. It just adds to the pro side of the list.

LJ's been kind of quiet the past two days. At least one of my comms didn't even post Tuesday or Wednesday updates. Is there some kind of boycott? A holiday? A rash of illness? Hang on... sorry, I thought I saw a tumbleweed roll by. Seriously, why so little activity on my flist?

In other news, Jeri Ryan's Twitter is much fun to read. If you're on Twitter and don't follow her, you should.
