Leverage--The Studio Job (spoilers)

Jul 18, 2010 22:30

Okay, remember my bitching from last week? Well, tonight's episode was EVERYTHING I want in a Leverage episode! (Well, it had everything except shirtless!Eliot...)

Okay, I am writing this after my first time through, so as usual, it will be rambly and unorganized.

First of all, OMG! TEAM BRIEFING!!!!!! THEY WERE ALL TOGETHER DECIDING STUFF!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I have missed those team briefings, and that has been one of my gripes of late. But this made it all better. &hearts

Now Kaye Lynn is a proper female guest star. She's tough and takes initiative and is in no way shape or form a Mary Sue like the chick from last week. I was pleased that she was a love interest for Eliot (did anyone doubt she would be, lol). The guitar scene was sexy, and I love that she asked him to come with her. You could see on Eliot's face how much he wanted to have the option. I thought it was heartbreaking when he was telling her that he's on a road he can't get off of... it was nice to see that kind of vulnerability in Eliot. He really seems to be dealing with the reality of what his past means for his present and future now, and it's really kind of sad. :( But in a good way.

I'd like to see Kaye Lynn come back at some point as a guest star. She and Eliot had some real chemistry, and she seems to have some kind of superpower that allows her to get him to drop his guard. :) I have decided to ship them. Maybe I'll even try to write them. :)

As for Eliot, I wanted to point out the scene where he was reminding Hardison that he has a price on his head. I have to wonder if that was meant to be foreshadowing. Is Eliot's past going to come back to haunt him before the end of the season?

We actually learned a lot about Eliot this episode--some of it was stuff we already kind of knew, but it was nice to get to see Eliot's perspective on his own past. First of all, there's a nice callback Aimee, and we see his remorse for not being able to keep a promise he made to her because his job got in the way. This raises a question, though. I wonder how long he worked for the Army (I'm assuming it was the Army). How long before he went off on his own?

And how much did I love that Eliot was nervous about singing in front of people? Aw. And how much did I love that Parker love that he was nervous, lol. And when he was in the studio "doing one for him," what was he recording? He wouldn't have to make a special copy of the song he'd just recorded, so did he record something else? Will we ever find out? And this maybe be a dumb question, but when the Big Bad's goon said, "you know who he sounds like" did we ever find out the significance of that, or was it just a throwaway line? IDK. Like I said, this was my first time through, and I was squeeing so much, I probably missed something.

And Parker! OMG! She was so freaking funny this episode! I loved her whole, "I don't think I'm being weird enough." LOL! And Nate's "I doubt that." And I loved her little pickpocket dance, lol.

Speaking of Nate, did anyone else get the impression he knew all along that Eliot could sing? Maybe because he's heard him sing in the shower, lol! :D Sorry, slash glasses.

And the Eliot/Hardison banter! Oh, it was so fantastic! I love it when those guys start going at each other. "Say pitchy one more time." "I can't hear you." LOL!

And how great was it that Bo Duke/Jonathan Kent was a REAL Bad Guy!

And the walkaway at the end--again, it was TEAM! That's the way to do Leverage!!!!!!

Now go download Christian's song. It's fantastic!

eliot gets his own tag, team love, actor: christian kane, tv: leverage
