Friday Girl's day out, Vampire Diaries, and to my surprise... CSI
Jessica, Kelley, Kelly, Jenny, and I went out to Longhorn for lunch this afternoon. I haven't been there in ages. After, I went to a couple of stores and bought a pair of jeans and Season 3 of Criminal Minds. Wal-Mart had it marked way down, so I was quite excited. I am in the mood to watch some old Hotch/Rossi interaction.
I may have some more thoughts on the premiere later tonight--perhaps with a poll--but for right now, I should talk about Thursday night TV. I still have to watch Bones and FlashForward, but I'll do that over the weekend. I also have to catch up on Warehouse 13. Kelley and I almost lost our geek cred yesterday, because someone came in to find out how the finale had ended (their DVR had cut off), and neither of us had seen it yet.
I liked getting to see a hint of Damon's humanity, even if he was unwilling to show it to Stefan. I don't know if it's the power of Ian Somerhalder or my affinity for bad boys, but I'm really loving Damon and am pretty certain he's a good guy underneath it all. Maybe we have to dig for it a bit, but I think he has the potential to change. As for Stefan, I'm conflicted. I like the actor, and the character is obviously a good guy. But I have a hard time relating to him, because he's so... self-righteous. I know he's probably not supposed to come off like that, but the writers haven't given him enough flaws, in my opinion.
Still, I'm loving the show. The cast has a pretty solid chemistry, and I'm intrigued by what's going to happen next. I'm still most in love with the chemistry between Damon and Stefan, though. While I quite like Elena, it's the backstory and current story between the brothers that I find most provocative.
I'm one of those fans who actually likes Sara, so it was good to see her back. It was also good to see Nicky get a promotion. All in all, it was a pretty good episode. I don't know if I'll watch it every week, but I certainly enjoyed watching the premiere. It was like visiting a familiar old friend you haven't talked to in a while. And I quite like Greg's hair.
