Star Trek, Karl Urban = \o/, slashing Trek, Star Trek villain poll
I just got back from seeing Star Trek again, and I loved it just as much as the first time! \o/ Jenny, who doesn't know much about Star Trek (but is a fan of LOST and Heroes) went with me, and she really liked it. After this viewing, Karl Urban as McCoy rocks my world even more. So. Freaking. Outstanding. Seriously, the guy embodies his character more than any of the others. But you know, after this viewing, I have a lot of respect for John Cho, too.
So... I'm completely banzai crazy about Kirk/McCoy now. I liked them before the movie, but now? I think they might be my main ship! :o And I think I might try to write some fic! It's been a while since I wrote fanfic, but McCoy's voice is just so damn enthralling. And I'm reading tons of fic, too. I have yet to wade into Kirk/Sulu waters, but I'm thinking I will.
They're already talking about doing another movie. So. Who do you all think should be the Big Bad? With the new timeline, there are so many possibilities! Imagine the first meeting with Khan updated with a big budget! Or a rogue Starfleet officer with an emotional tie to one of the crew. Or Porthos, seeking vengeance against Scotty for the transporter accident! D: They could even dream up someone new, or give us an early appearance by the Cardassians. I just know I don't want to see The Borg or Q.
For my part, I'm torn between the Klingons or Khan. I'd like to see Khan, but it would have to be EPIC. And they'd totally need to cast a hot Indian actor to play Khan. Ricardo Montalban brought so much to the role, so they'd have to really cast a damn fine actor to top him.
