1. My parents were hippies.
2. My dad had a special garden when I was a kid.

4. I think the view from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial is one of the most beautiful in the world.
5. I like to sit outside or in the food court of the mall to write.
6. I prefer to write in a notebook before I type anything.
7. My first big name concert was The Cars Door to Door concert in Cleveland on November 22, 1987.
8. I've been OCD since before it was trendy, and it pisses me when people claim to be OCD when, in fact, they are just obsessed over a cute actor or like to used different colored highlighters for different subjects.
9. I collect Coca-Cola memorabilia.
10. I still remember drinking

11. I miss drinking pop (soda for you non-Midwesterners) from glass bottles.
12. I was named by an aunt, because my parents liked different names.
13. I share a middle name with my mother.
14. When I was young and stupid, I used to do back flips off the bars at the playground onto cement. Of course, the person who decided to put gymnast bars on a cement elementary school playground should probably be smacked.
15. I have a tendency to listen to one song over and over again for days.
16. Right now, I'm listening to Bob Dylan's "Shelter from the Storm" over and over again.
17. I don't like to write in absolute silence, but I don't like to write if one or two people are near me talking. I prefer music or a loud food court.
18. My first kiss was when I was seven, and the boy in question was dressed like a vampire at the time. This probably explains a lot.
19. When I was a kid, I used to sit in our family room and listen to Pink Floyd or country music while my parents burnt incense. This probably also explains a lot.
20. My parents divorced when I was 9, but got back together a few months later and stayed together until my dad died when I was in my late 20s.
21. One of my friends when I was a really little kid had a transsexual uncle. The way my mom explained the whole situation to me probably accounts for my liberal and open acceptance of people who are different.
22. I had spiked hair and wore a
jacket like this in high school.
23. I started collecting comic books when I was a kid, and wound up writing my Master's Thesis on them.
24. I'm horrible at math.
25. I didn't own a cell phone until I left for grad school. I still managed to get mine two years before my cousin Eric (the other member of my family who will probably wind up being a college professor), though.
