Slight mention of previews for the next episodes of SGA and Sanctuary.
This was a nice love story. I enjoyed the episode's focus on Jim and Melinda and on the myriad of ghosts on the ship. I honestly expected that the ghost's fiance was going to be a sleazy killer, so I was pleasantly surprised that he was really a good guy.
Okay, it needs to be said before I do anything else. LORNE!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I've missed him. It was good to see him actually get something to do in this episode. I'd really like to see him interact more with Woolsey. I suspect that Robert Picardo and Kavan Smith would play off each other quite well if they were given the chance. And also, Lorne getting cranky with the council representative? Hot.
Woolsey was pretty great in this episode. I quite enjoyed the little insight into his background and abilities. "Now that I know the game, I can play it." That's him. That's Woolsey in a nutshell, and I love it.
As for the rest of the episode... Other than Lorne and Woolsey, it was kind of a letdown. I liked the idea, but I didn't care for the format. The team pretty much cooled their heels while John stood there and introduced clips from past episodes. Honestly, I cringe every time I see a clips episode.
Next episode: MICHAEL!!!!!!!!!
First of all, I like disaster episodes, so I was fine with the whole "plane full of crashed people" format. I think I would have liked it better if someone like Henry had been with them. As it was, the only ones involved in the crash with real personalities were Helen, Will, and the short-lived co-pilot. The others were just warm bodies.
Oh, hai, Unexpected!David Nykl! Too bad he got iced so soon into the episode. :( Still, it was a pleasant surprise to see him.
I felt no emotional connection to Silvio, so I really don't miss him. I was slightly surprised that he died, though.
The glimpse into Helen's background with Druitt was welcome. Amanda Tapping and Christopher Heyerdahl play off each other quite well. I wouldn't have imagined them having chemistry, but they really do.
Speaking of background, it was nice to see a bit of Will's internal ghosts.
Also, I really want to cut Ashley's bangs.
Also, I really missed Ryan Robbins. *emo*
Okay, I'm over it, because he's in the previews for the next one.
