Okay, I'm beat, so I'm going to make this relatively brief:
DAAANNNNIIIIEEELL!!!!!!!
Okay, now that we've gotten that out of the way... ;)
This was a superb episode for a variety of reasons. First of all, there was the joy of seeing Daniel again. Yay! Since Stargate: SG-1 ended, I've been missing my archaeologist. I hadn't realized how much until I watched Continuum, but when I heard that music, I got the old feeling again and was jonesing for another appearance. Daniel's appearance in SGA was both exciting and bittersweet. Barring the other SG-1 movies they're supposed to make, I imagine this might be this and next week might be the last time we see Michael Shanks play Daniel, and that makes me kind of melancholy.
At the same time, though, it was damn good to see him again, and Michael plays off David Hewlett really well. I liked the little conversation they had about their work and the lack of recognition. There are times I completely forget that Rodney really isn't getting the kind of acclaim he could be getting.
And damn, Michael Shanks looked good. I wanted to reach through the screen and grab him!
I'm still not much for Ronon and Keller. They just don't click with me. I think part of it is the fact that Keller reminds me (and Ronon) of Ronon's deceased girlfriend. Also, the idea of Ronon schmoopy and in love just seems like... Teal'c being schmoopy and in love.
And Radek! I was sitting there, bitching at the empty room about how they were probably going to short him again, but he showed up, and he got a lot to do! And more than that, Sheppard showed some faith in him, which is something a lot of people don't seem to do anymore. It was good to see him acting all confident and assertive.
What's that? Oh, I blink and almost missed Teyla. Invisibility must be a side-effect of her temporary transformation into a Wraith Queen.
Overall, this was a fantastic episode. Granted, there was no Lorne in this episode, but I'm assuming he was away, since Sheppard didn't mention turning the base over to him when he was heading out or having him head down to confront the aliens.
And Chuck! Chuck with lines! Chuck with his feet up! Still, why did that female person have more lines that him. *fumes*
Woolsey: "Try not to blow her up while I'm gone."
Sheppard: "No promises."
Heh heh. Good thing Sheppard didn't promise anything.
Also, next episode? Looks fantastic!
There goes my whole "brevity" plan, huh?
Next week: Sanctuary!!!!!!!!!
