Here are my sleep-addled thoughts on "Adam:"
Adam: First of all, how cool is it that they stuck him in the opening credits? In any case, he was incredibly creepy, and I wanted everyone to take a hot shower after he left to wash him off. Especially Tosh. Yikes.
Tosh: Speaking of Tosh, she's been looking extraordinary this season. I didn't care for Bitchy!Tosh, of course. I much prefer my geeky gal. I felt terrible for her this episode, though. First she gets mind-raped by that sleezy Adam, and then she gets dissed at the end by Owen. :(
Owen: How much do I love geeky Owen! :D Seriously, the glasses are win, and I loved seeing him wear his heart on his sleeve. And of course he has mom issues. Poor, cynical baby. I liked the little hint of regret on his face when he told Tosh he doesn't do flowers or apologies.
Rhys/Gwen: They were a dozen kinds of cute this episode. I loved getting some backstory on them as a couple, and I loved seeing Rhys's devotion to Gwen. Although his "marry her if it kills me line" makes me worry for his future. :o The only quibble I had was Gwen's "but not like I love you." Why did they have to once again cheapen Gwen's love for Rhys by having her moon over Jack? I get that in context, the whole scene was supposed to show everyone making a declaration of love or devotion or need for Jack, but the way Gwen's was written, it just make her look like she's settling for Rhys, or like she has a schoolgirl crush on Jack. I don't like to see her characterized that way.
Ianto: How fantastic was GDL this episode! He really brought it, and I was grateful to get to see such a performance. First of all, trust Ianto to do a Daniel Jackson and keep a meticulous diary. The whole "Adam implanting killer memories" scene was creepy and outstanding. I loved the scenes between Jack and Ianto--Jack's unwavering belief in Ianto's innocence, memory-altered Ianto following Jack around like a man desperate to hold onto anything solid and real, the sweet hug, the tender kiss Jack gave Ianto after Ianto remember what Jack means to him. *gush*
Jack: Well, I've been spoiled that Grey was Jack's brother for a while now, but I think the revelation was well done. I've seen some complain that the Boeshane Peninsula was too much like Tatooine from Star Wars. Seriously, people. It was a place on the beach. How does that make it Tatooine? Anyway, I loved getting a glimpse into Jack's backstory, and now I want more. Jack's dad was rather handsome. Too bad he died when Jack was such a young guy.
(I do have to say one thing, though. When Jack and everyone was running away from whatever alien creature was after them? I half-expected to see a Wraith dart fly by. LOL)
I really loved the scene where Jack gave everyone the retcon, had a personal moment of connection with each of them, and then "tucked them in" like a parent. That was a really nice scene, imo. Except for that one pesky Gwen line.
Overall: This was a kick ass episode, and I wasn't disappointed!
I still haven't gotten "Reset" yet. I'm debating about waiting until tomorrow. I pretty much know what happens, as I've been spoiled for the big bang in that one, too. But I'm excited to see the episode, as spoilers don't detract anything for me.
