*tries to think of a witty subject line*

Okay, a bit of a proper update.

It's 1:40 am, and I should probably be in bed. But I call my LJ "Ramblings of an Insomniac" for a reason.

I discovered today when I went to make dinner that I should have bought more chicken, as what was left of the chicken in my freezer had shards of ice on it. I might need to turn the freezer down. I did have some yummy potatoes o'brien, though.

Perhaps I need to interject some variety into my diet. I have a tendency to eat the same things over and over again, and then I switch and eat something else. It's hard to get motivated to cook for just one person, though. And I have an unfortunate habit of forgetting to eat until my blood sugar has careened out of control. I'm thinking I might get the stuff for chili tomorrow and make some of that. I've been meaning to for some time. I make excellent chili.

I watched a couple more episodes of Torchwood today. They were two I hadn't seen, so this means I have only one more ("Combat") to be caught up. I am SO ready for the new season to start. Since I'm in the US, I'll have to wait a few extra days for the premiere, but it's better than being a year behind.

Best line in the episode: "Of course, bananas are much more interesting."

And because I'm awake, bored, and enamored with a bunch of different songs, I'll dig out the old 7 Song Meme.

You know the drill:

List 7 songs you're really digging right now. It doesn't matter if they're good or not (though why would I bother to listen to something I don't think is good?). They just have to be songs you're really digging.

In no special order:

1. "Lake Michigan" by Rogue Wave
2. "Shine" by David Gray (yes, I'm consistent)
3. "The Widowing Field" by Jars of Clay
4. "Almost Lover" by A Fine Frenzy
5. "Wisdom" by David Gray
6. "Running up that Hill" by Placebo
7. "Hannah" by Ray LaMontagne
