So this week, and today especially, has been absolutely fantastic for the Chippy. Today we went and picked up some supplies for the restaurant - salt & pepper shakers, vinegar pots (the exact same kind as Matt had at his pub back in England!), cutting boards, order pads, fun things like that. Oh, and coffee maker, electric kettle, and a flagpole! We'll be putting up a Union Jack outside the building.
Matt had an interview with a reporter from the Lawrence Journal World this morning, so there should be an article tomorrow. He also met another Brit named Jeremy, who has a Saturday morning radio show on KLWN, and Matt is going to be on the show with him this Saturday, from 10 am to 11 am.
Matt also met with his food supplier yesterday, and has his first delivery scheduled. Which means that Queen Lizzy's will actually be opening (with a limited menu) on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18TH at 11:30 A.M. EXCITING!
The Grand Opening, with hoopla and fun and full menu, will be SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29TH. More details on that later!
