I've been entertaining thoughts of teaching overseas international school like Shanghai/Beijing, or save up for a retirement home so that i can retire at 50yrs old...
i'm planning on doing a masters, and if that materializes, I'll be in my late 30s. Not sure whether I'll still have the energy and enthusiastic to resettle in a foreign place. Perhaps my salary will be quite substantial by then, making it less of an incentive to move overseas.
On the other hand, I've a colleague who's in his mid 40s, who have fully paid up his HDB flat and save enough to buy a FH condo in Phuket. He can retire anytime and pursue his interest and enjoy living... doesn't sound like a bad plan
