Home
Well, I’m all moved in, each piece of artwork is hung, my jeans are on hangers in the closet and the refrigerator is stocked. The suitcases, which have I have lived out of for the last 6 months are finally emptied and stored. Looks like I found my way back home, at least for the next year.
I feel as if I should take stock of the my experience - the Germany debacle - and the summer of moving from place to place. But I don't feel like it right now - I don't feel like digging. I don't feel like rehashing or even writing out a simple summary - because it wouldn't be simple. There has been nothing simple about it.
I like my new apartment. Sort of. It’s small, didn’t expect much more, as it’s only a studio. But it’s small. Very little natural light makes it through the windows because they face the corridor, and the people living across from me. It’s dark in here, which would have been welcomed a year ago - but now because I feel lighter - I need more light. Might have to make a trip to Ikea for a good lighting source. God, did I just say ‘Ikea’? Yes, I’ll go to Ikea. Oh wait? I have a Target card, maybe I should just go there? Either way, I need better lighting in here.

My new neighborhood
Yesterday was beautiful, weather wise. Wonderful, early Autumn, day. The farmers market is just around the corner, so I went for a stroll. I’ve always loved the park-blocks. Street performers, the smell of spicy, delicious food and the hustle and bustle of merchants selling their harvest.

Amanda Richards: Bohemian Country Songstress
That’s what she preferred to be called instead of “folk-singer”. Her voice lured me in and her cover of a George Jones song sucked me into buying her CD. As always, her live performance on the street corner was much more moving then her CD. Such as life.
I’m feeling anxious today. Tomorrow classes start. I suppose this is just normal jitters and they will fade or transform onto the actual details of homework and such, but right now, I feel anxious about the unknown.
Think I’ll go for a walk right now - clear my head - get some of this last bit of morning sun on my face and people watch.
Nothing clever and or witty to say this morning………
