Yeah, but in terms of it getting crappy, there was only one more season anyway--it was never going to go on for season after season like some shows...although if Neil was really uninspired (and it sounds like he was in the movie tbh), maybe it is for the best...but ugh, way to let us down, Neil! :(
And do you mean the weird European production, Borgia? I know it's on Netflix (so I can see it easily), but I don't think that would help you...I still have to watch season 1. I hear mixed things about it (like their Cesare kind of sucks). I have renewed interest since finding out Savonarola is played by Ser Jorah Iain Glen, however! ;) But we should both watch it and compare notes!
XD Yeah, I like J/C much more in the books - on screen it's like they haven't put any time into them at all, and they certainly haven't put much time into making their relationship romantic.
Yeah I remember when I hadn't started watching it yet and some Borgias fans were like, "There's incest on GoT too--but it's actually canon!!" (Trololo little did we know then it'd become canon on TB as well! ;)) Except that their relationship was so horrible and awful with none of the tenderness and sweetness and palpable love and devotion Cesare/Lucrezia exuded in every scene. Jaimie was an asshole to her, and they just seemed to have sex without really liking each other. It was a little better in the scenes where each talks about their love for the other to other people, but when together...meh. :/ Although even in the books, they are less and less romantic now as well...
