Finished with Battlestar Galactica: This is a Feels Post! (s3-4)

This past Sunday night/early Monday morning I finished watching BSG for the first time, almost two weeks after I began it! I am still filled with many thoughts and feels right now that I need to express. I'm glad I finished during a 3-day weekend so that I had time to finish watching and then have a day after to ~process~ it all, and explore fandom ( Read more... )

VIDS YOU SAY. WELL. THIS VID. WATCH NOW. I've only got the one, I know, but it's the love of my life.

And, ugh, your thoughts tend to be my thoughts, although you came to the finale more equitably than I did-I hated s4 so much for so long that all I could do was hiss like a cat even when they were giving me happy things, like, DON'T YOU TRY TO PLACATE ME!! (I, er, dropped that wrt the finale in actual fact-I am only human and OCH, MAKEOUTS IN HELMETS, DISCUSSIONS WITH HEADPERSONS, TRAGEDY/HAPPINESS, ALL THINGS GOOD. (I am on the annoyed side about the last two minutes, like: don't implicate my OTP in this nonsense!)

Can we talk about how much more time with cylons, specifically with Caprica, the New Caprica stuff needed? Like, why am I watching the Chief's labour union shenanigans when I could be spending time with the actual builders of the civilization? Where are Caprica and Boomer and why are they not onscreen for ALL OF THE TIME?

Also lolmg @ the promo pic; I love them to death but I can never not laugh at that photo. It's the clothes: she looks like she's just come from So You Think You Can Dance, he looks like a rubbish college undergrad on laundry day, I die. (Darlings.)

Yay for more agreement, aside from bits of s4! :D It's good to know I am not alone in these feels...sorry you hated s4 so much. Was it largely the Gaius and Caprica issues, or the plotlines as well? (Daybreak holes aside).

Oh yes, I lied, I had seen that one before as well (the first I ever saw), but I wasn't sure how to embed that one...it was a decent vid though, and I love that song! (I got it after hearing it in the vid and have had it pretty much on repeat on my iPod the past week...so fitting for them). But thanks for the rec anyway, IA with it! :)

What do you mean by this, exactly? O_o Because the Head!versions of Gaius and Six were involved with the present day Earth thing?

UGH YES THIS! >:( I think that was my main problem with the NC arc, that it was a good concept but failed to show enough of the right people--Tyrol is a nice guy but he and Cally and random people I never knew before like Jammer were just not people I found myself interested enough in to see so much of, so much of the time. It definitely would have been nice to see more of a Cylon perspective on that, more of a balance. Like I did love the Six who kills Jean Barlow (sp?) in s4 because she is still scarred by Jean murdering her so coldly--that was a wonderful glimpse of how the NC experiment scarred more than just the humans. More of that in the s3 epps would have been nice.

Or especially Boomer--such focus in Downloaded, and then like nothing--Caprica and D'Anna had most of the screentime, but Boomer doesn't get to share her pov really until s4. And did she never seek out Tyrol, given her feelings? That would have been a more interesting Tyrol storyline IMO...

Lol, now that you mention it that is kind of true, especially with her shoes and the way her feet are positioned...:p Oh well, still love it--Head!Six is always going to be more put together than he is anyway, might as well show in the clothes..;)

Ahahahaha, my feelings about the last two minutes are almost totally irrational, I just loathe that scene-like, the politics of it, all the supersimplistic antitech jargon that goes against the whole fact of the show (YOU BUILT ROBOTS THAT CAN TALK TO GOD! AND YOU ARE TRYING TO SCARE ME WITH A FURBY?)-that I'd like to block it out of my memory wholesale, and I CAN'T because MY OTP; I have to CONCENTRATE and I RESENT THAT DEEPLY.

Although as a less irrational (though deeply semantic) objection: why are the angels tailored to Gaius and Caprica's subconsciouses still around when those two have presumably been dead for centuries? (I KNOW. I KNOW. IT'S TO TELEGRAPH ANGELIC...BUSINESS TO THE AUDIENCE. BUT IT IS PAT AND I AM MAD.)

Ah I see...so because they have appearance of the OTP then, their faaaces, it's like they're mixing them up in it even though it's not actually them but their angelic messengers...(I was super confused about their presence in that scene at first).

And lol I was wondering about that to, but I guess they wanted the audience to know it was still those angels who we were seeing...and show us the beloved Head!versions one more time (maybe the angels got used to and enjoy wearing Tricia Helfer's and James Callis' lovely faces? :p). I still find it funny that they were collaborating as a team/unit all this time...
