>:( It's NOT new or random (irrational is less debatable, but then love isn't supposed to be rational, is it? :p). But I know we just have to agree to disagree on this one...;) ALTHOUGH it's not quite the same because I think it's clear the writers ALWAYS wanted to set up a love triangle, and they were already beginning to show signs of his love in season 1--hell they have stuff like that creepy face-stroking scene even in the 4th epp or whatever!--whereas the idea of making Uther Morgana's father was NOT the original intent, and probably didn't even get conceived until the end of season 2, if not even in between seasons--so I do think my ignoring U/M as incest is more valid, since it's a question of original intent vs. massive retcon. Damon loving Elena isn't a retcon, since that is an emotion that can develop, whereas Uther suddenly being Morgana's father is not something that could have developed naturally! :p

However, that is not my argument, I am not partisan like that! :P I just think that ultimately the writers have the autonomy and the authority to decide these things. Also I looked up 'retcon' and its not in my dictionary so there is a gap in my understanding of your point!
