Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale:

I think two consecutive finales from the same show fit this bill....

"The Pain in the Heart" and "The End in the Beginning" (Bones)

Oh this show....*sigh* I don't think it gets more "OMG WTF?" season finale than 3x16 "The Pain in the Heart" or 4x26 "The End in the Beginning." The one was a crazy dream, the other felt like a crazy dream (and made more sense as one for a number of reasons), buts actually supposed to be reality...(which made it worse, IMO). I actually liked "The End in the Beginning" well enough, because it was a fun little AU for me, and was supposed to be a dream anyway, leaving me free to enjoy it rather than stress about how dreamlike and absurd it was--but it still counts as WTF-like for sure.

"The Pain in the Heart" on the other hand....where do I begin? With Booth's ridiculous death-fakeout (running around less than TWO WEEKS after getting almost mortally shot--surrrre!), or the bath scene where we see that OOC beer hat and him with a record player in the BATHROOM (moisture much?), or them describing in detail the ongoing gravedigger case on TV (never going to happen!), or the little permanent "King of the Lab" award we never see given out, or, you know, ZACK BEING THE APPRENTICE WHEN IT MAKES NO SENSE WHATSOEVER?!?!? >:(

I mean, this man looks up to Booth and Brennan with almost hero-worship, we're supposed to believe that if approached by the man they've been investigating/trying to catch all this time, he wouldn't go to B2 immediately?! Yeah right! And we're supposed to believe that a man who can't even drive a car is able to skillfully maneuver a motorcycle in a high-speed chase scene, almost blowing up his friends? Again, I DON'T THINK SO! *rolleyes* It all makes more sense as Zack's dream (including Brennan being more focused on Zack than Booth), than as reality, and when that's the case you know the writers really screwed up. This was definitely the point when the show jumped the shark somewhat (or as one hilarious quote at the time put it, "went out and stole 6 sharks from a tank and just drove over them"), and the fact that Hart Hanson just smiled and said "all reaction is good" was just...gah! *facepalms forever*

And hell, the "WTF" factor still hasn't gone away from Bones, the most recent season 5 finale also had some of this element, with the randomness of Booth going off to war and Brennan to that island, Hodgins and Angela randomly going off to Paris (as if they're all going to have the same jobs waiting for them a year later!), and the thing with Angela's dad and the car!  *sigh*

Perfect icon is perfect, though for this question, lol...

New fitting tag shamelessly stolen from Treehaus...
