Merlin Season 3...
I'd been avoiding spoilers for the most part besides admiring a few on-set cloak!porn pics of Morgana and watching the Comic Con trailer, but while mucking around the Merlin episodes Wikipedia page I stumbled upon this detailed episode description for the first episode, and now I'm rather intrigued....
I like the idea of a 1 year jump between seasons 2 and 3 (though I find it funny that this is happening on two of my shows this season! :p) I'm also so relieved and glad that Morgana is going to be found within the first episode, it would have been horrible (and super boring for me) if they had spent more than a couple episodes looking for her....I was right about the trailer being mostly just the first couple epps, like last time! :D
I hate that they've made her "evil" already, seemingly with no return, given how shoddily done and botched her crossing over to the dark side was last season (and I never wanted her to be "evil" per say), but oh well, at least it seems she might get more screentime this way, and she'll get to be badass again instead of all scared and cowering OOC-ly in her rooms all the time...
As far as this episode description is concerned, the things I love most (besides Morgana being back already!) are Merlin worrying about Morgana giving away the fact that he TRIED TO MURDER HER, and getting captured and bound by Morgana and Morgause. I still haven't forgiven him for that, and I do want to see him squirm/get some comeuppance for that/have to deal with the consequences! (Though I can't believe that they're making a move that drastic on him already).
Also, "hallucinations from Uther's past" sounds VERY promising! :) I wonder if we'll get to see Gorlois at last (and some more much-needed Morgana and Morgause backstory), and more Ygraine? I've always wished that this show did flashbacks, but this certainly seems like the next best thing, and some compelling Uther screentime. (He and Morgana are the ones I most enjoy watching on this show, after all...)
One thing I hate though is that it seems Merlin is going to join forces with the Dragon to save Camelot--really?! The same dragon who was totally on Team Old Religion and Nimueh and 100% behind Nimueh's plots, and who nearly destroyed Camelot himself in revenge, now he's going to be fighting Team Old Religion to save Camelot? /rolleyes/ The stupid Great Dragon's inconsistency drives me bonkers...
So in short, I'm pissed at the direction Morgana's character took, and how much the writers effed up her story arc, but I hope I will be able to enjoy her moments of being badass in this epp, the Uther/Morgana (between Uther being so desperate to get her back that he doesn't care how many of his men die, and their "tearful reunion" which is at least genuine on his end, etc), and Uther's angsty hallucinations!
