Fallen: A Morgana Fanmix [EP]
I finally finished my Morgana fanmix that I've been working on all summer! Enjoy! :)

Warnings: Spoilers for season/series 1 only.
Notes: An angsty mix tracing Morgana's fall from grace and conversion into the antagonist of the legend. Only my own speculation though about what will happen....
This is a mix about my favorite character on Merlin and in Arthurian legend in general, Morgana le Fay, whose tragic, impending fall from grace I tried to capture here as I see it possibly playing out: from her frustrating situation of being a spirited and independent woman in a man’s world with troubling dreams, to her growing distress as her visions worsen and as she develops other magical powers, to finally her turning against Camelot because of Uther’s stance against magic and becoming Arthur’s enemy. I also accompanied each song with some of the images I see when I hear these lyrics.

I always hoped that I'd learn how to fly

The bold and spirited Morgana is constantly told to “be a good girl and do what [she’s] told” by the men in her life-Uther, Arthur, Merlin, Gauis. (Once this even extends to chaining her up in the dungeon to teach her a lesson). However nothing and no one can stop the fantastic and horrifying dreams (or nightmares) that she keeps having at night, and which may be of the future…
2. “Somebody Help Me” by Full Blown Rose
I’ve seen the face of my affliction
Of my reality
I’m being tortured by the future
Of things that are yet to be
I'm being haunted by a vision
It's like the morning never comes
I feel the burden of confusion, always searching....on the run
Free me
Before I slip away
Heal me
Wake me from this day
Can somebody help me?
Now, I'm not a hero...no
But the weight of the world's is on my soul
These images burn my eyes
They're burning me up inside.
Morgana is tormented more and more by her disturbing visions of the future.
3. “Stones & Feathers” by Alex Parks
There's nothing left for me to do
just like time and time and time again
What else is left for me to prove?
But when it comes around
I can't help falling down
Is this the state of so-called pleasure?
Or just the weight of stones & feathers?
I'm not myself
maybe I'm never
Just like tear that fades away
Just like a word I can't express or can't explain
A thousand voices in my brain
I wish they'd comfort me
Instead it's torturing
When all is said and done
I confess I've had enough
Morgana’s visions worsen still more, and she begins to feel helpless.

Caught up in her visions and developing magical gifts, and resenting Uther’s tyrannical stance against magic and her kind, Morgana begins to turn against him and fall from grace…

Promised I would find a little solace
And some peace of mind
Whatever just as long as I don't feel so
Desperate and ravenous,
So weak and powerless
Morgana continues to slide towards the dark side, choosing to listen to her darker instincts as she tries to rise above her ‘weak and powerless’ situation.

Burning on
Just like a match you strike to incinerate
The lives of everyone you know
And what's the worst you take
From every heart you break
And like a blade you stain
Well, I've been holding on tonight
We are the very hurt you sold

When both our cars collide
Morgana has finally left Camelot and has turned against Arthur and her former loved ones. This song is from Arthur’s hurt and pained POV as he thinks about the one he once loved, who is now his enemy.
