It is has been forever since I have posted because I is busy, sooo busy! I now have 3 clients for my practice :) And oh, holy crap, I HAVE A PRACTICE! A proper psychological practice!
Another psychologist contacted me and told me they liked my approach and they have joined, and we are going to split our caseload. And Jo (the other psych) is awesome! She just got a tattoo all up her arm and she is friendly and nice and we have friends in common that we didn't know about.
Also I need to start tagging entries because I have way too many. Perhaps I can do that sometime this week - right now I'm on leave for 2 weeks from my other Medibank job because OMG, setting up a practice = stressful. Who would have thought?
Also, my health has been awesome. For posterity, I'm going to go through what my health issues are because they are complicated and people are always asking why I am so sick and
now I know why!
I have always had really really bad chest and throat infections and could never work out why. From the ages of about 11 until I was 21 I was just sick all the time. I mean, all the frakkin' time. Even after having my tonsils removed, I continued to get sick, although not as much.
I went through a stage about 2 years ago where I was getting chest infections, yeast infections and UTIs constantly and I was never well.
Turns out my adrenal glands were fucked which was suppressing my immune system and screwing up my hormones.
After sooo much work with my naturopath and a gazillion supplements later, plus a sugar and alcohol free diet (omg, so boring) my chest infections have cleared up, my UTIs have cleared up and my yeast infections are intermittent. I'm now able to slowly start cutting down on my immune supplements, and am onto the final hurdle which is getting my hormones right.
Because I've been on the pill for over 10 years (plus, i just seem to be genetically that way inclined) I have symptoms consistent with ridiculously high estrogen levels. I'm going to get it tested to confirm in a few weeks once I'm at the right part of my cycle. This will be the last thing I need to deal with before I have a totally functional body again!
So that's news with me :) Michael and I are still undecided about getting divorced, but have been generally getting along and still living together, so it hasn't been nearly as bad as it could be.
Ooh, and
penguin_bot came to visit and we hung out and it was grand!
