Happy Mother's Day
I've had a great Mother's Day, and hope all you other mothers did as well. The grandparents came for lunch, and the sun finally poked out just as we were sitting down to eat outside.
Mother's Day menu:
grilled butterflied chicken
grilled Polish sausage
roasted kale
roasted new potatoes
green salad - 2 types of lettuce, sugar snap peas, cucumbers, radishes, tomatoes, feta
strawberry-rhubarb crisp
buttermilk ice cream
Almost everything came from either the farmer's market or the CSAs, and it was all delicious. Particularly the ice cream. I think buttermilk may have passed pistachio as my absolute favorite.
The only bad part of today was Mal waking up from his nap with a 101 degree temperature. I'm really hoping it disappears for tomorrow, so we can proceed with our Star Trek-viewing plans.
