Happy New Years Eve!
I'm currently drinking peach schnapps with cranberry juice (Sherry, I have you to blame for this too, don't I? I guess I'm just going to have to make you my official drink guru, yes?) and watching CSI with Mom, making for a quiet but enjoyable New Year's Eve. (Mel works for the county highway department, which, during winter, means plowing roads. We're supposed to get some kind of snow storm tonight, which means he's on call and couldn't stay over.)
Emily and Brian, I got your package of piratical awesomeness! Thank you both very much! All of the pirate stuff is very much awesome especially the socks (the little skull on the big toe makes me happy) and underwear (I, surprisingly, didn't have pirate theme underwear yet), and the One Piece stickers are so very pretty. And I've read and enjoyed Deerskin, also by Robin McKinley, so I'm looking forward to reading Dragonhaven. YA fantasy books will never stop being good, no matter how old I am. (Oh, Brian, I really hope to have your other present out this week. I'd hoped to have had it out before Christmas, I just haven't been to the post office in ages. I'm sorry.)
