Happy Birthday Emily!
So, I didn't get that grant I'd mentioned last week. This time, when I asked why, I was told that there wasn't enough money left over after paying out to full time students to give any to part time students. Which is rather a different answer than last weeks 'Oh, you don't qualify to get this.' And I'm still very, very pissed off, because if I had been told, say, three weeks ago that I'd get the grant if there was enough money left as opposed to 'it'll be on your account by Friday (last Friday, now)' I would have planned assuming that I would have to pay that money myself instead of thinking I could add it to my car fund. So I'm now $324 farther away from being able to start saving anything. And apparently to everyone who works in the financial aid office, that's pocket change. I think I should send them all a card for being so lovely to me. Does Hallmark have a 'I'm so sorry that I'm poor enough for unexpected bills to upset me. Please forgive me for wanting you to do your jobs.' card?
I could teach my History of Civilization class better than my new professor. In that I'd actually teach. All we've done all week is go over his syllabus while he explains it word for word. And he's been letting us go over half an hour early. And I was about ready to just walk out his first day there. After introducing himself, the very next thing he did was to insult Professor Nolan teaching style, that it wasn't possible to be properly educated without a book (he's not making us by them, but he strongly suggests that we get one. Not that the book store even caries them, because they've never been needed.), and that 'multiple guess' tests can't prove that you've learned anything. And he didn't even use professor. It was 'Mr. Nolan'. And, even if he had been the worst teacher in the state, you kinda look like an ass when you go insulting someone a week after their death. If it weren't too late for a full refund and if I didn't need the class eventually anyway, I'd so drop it.
I didn't get the library job I put in for, but I've been working the concession stand thing more often. Which is why I've been nonexistent lately. Between that and school, I've ended up with Tuesday as the only day I'm really home at all (though I should be around some on Sunday). So, I'm sorry I haven't been in touch with any one much lately. I've missed you all, and I'll try to fix this soon.
