If you know me, odds are you know I knit. My great grandmother taught me when I was 4 yrs old. I've had stretches where I didn't knit much of anything, but for most of my life I've knit when no one else was doing it. In the last few years knitting has gained new popularity and I couldn't be happier. Even better, knitting has become a social activity. There are people getting together to knit and socialize all over the world.
I go to my local Stitch N Bitch when I can, but it doesn't work too well with my schedule. In 2008 I'm going to try to get there at least once/month. Today several local knitting groups from the neighboring counties all got together to knit and network. There were people from KUTI (Knitting Under the Influence) in Westchester, White Plains Knitting Meetup, Norwalk Knitting Meetup, Yarn Therapy (in The Bronx I think) and Stamford SnB. What a fabulous group of people! I had such a great time talking to these creative, crafty, fearless women and it was totally cool to walk into Panera's and see so many people knitting in public.
