Book Expo America...Here I Come! (And Lake George too)
My good friend works for a wonderful niche publisher, the Taunton Press . Besides being a great person, she's also the source of occasional great perks like new magazines, beautiful books, and in this case an exhibitor's badge that will get me into Book Expo America 2007 on Friday, June 1. I'm totally psyched! Talk about a book geek's dream come true :)
And, wonderful friend that she is, she has also invited me to join her and her kids up at Lake George for a week in August. I haven't taken a "vacation" in longer than I can remember. I went home to visit my family over the Xmas holidays but it wasn't really a vacation. This will be a week where I can get away from the every day hustle and bustle without any obligations other than to relax and enjoy myself. We've rented the Moose Lodge cabin at Whispering Pines Cottages. Vacation time is booked, the cottage is reserved, and I'm ready to start counting the days.....
