(no subject)
i had a crazy thought today. What if I came back to the US black? I could maybe even gague my lip and elongate my neck and shave my head. Funny story about that actually... you'll just have to wait and see though.
ANYWAY the Timmis' are here this week. They are the couple that pay for the guys and girls to be in school. They pay for uniforms, the teachers, the buildings. all of it. They come once a year to check on their "second life". The girls were soooo excited to see them. They did dances and songs and put on a play. I dont think the play was REALLY necessary but oh well. We then went to dinner with them after. The Timmis' brought another couple with them. I had the pleasure of sitting next to the wife. We talked about her yacht in italy, her house in colorado, california, michigan,and the one that they are now building in the keys. It was... interesting. They were super nice though. The Timmis' are awesome. Last time i saw them was when I was living in Australia. I dont think i have ever seen them in the states though. We were joking about how next time we see eachother i'll be living in Greenland or something.haha.
The computer I am typing on is all in asian charecters. I dont really know what i have typed so i hope i havent butchered it too badly. Hayden was supposed to come to dinner last night but never made it. It was a shame. He is the only male i know here that speaks fluent english.
I was on a walk with one of the girls from the school, Kyinza Sarah, and this was our convo:
KS: what is your first language
SS: english
KS: nono no, like what is your mothers first language, like YOUR language?
SS: english
KS: no, i mean your tribal language?
SS: well, we dont have tribes but still english
KS: YOU DONT HAVE TRIBES?
SS: no, we dont
KS: so how do you know if someone is from a different place than you?
SS: either their accent or they say "hi, im from california"
KS: are you SURE english is your first language?
SS: yes,im positive
KS: what about other people?
SS: they ALL speak english?
KS: EVERYONE?!?! okay so what other languages do youknow?
SS: ummm... english aaaand i can say a few words in spanish
KS: wow
so i have never felt more ignorant in my life. These girls all know like 5 different languages plus english. CRAZY. Word of that convo spread to the other girls and occasionally they come to me to make sure that we really dont have tribes. anyway i miss you all. thats right, last night i really missed annapolis. something is happenening to me.
one more thing, Kiersten found me a husband. Unfortunatly, you dont know him. even more unfortunate, i dont either.
