Tonight I spent most of my time condensing two hundred pages of text into seven pages of notes. It is an explanation of all of the clinical manifestations of certain nerve lesions. For example, if a man was stabbed in the armpit in a knife fight, which nerves are most likely to become lesioned, and what will be the resulting deficits? I wrote it all in bulleted points, to make it easier. Right now my head is full of so many facts that I can see the Matrix right before me. It is just like a continuous stream of data floating through my mind. Thank God for sleep. When I wake up, it will all make sense and be clear.
I also colored in my anatomy coloring book, which is awesome. It really does help. There is a little preface in the book and it talks about how most of us learned the english language by coloring, so why not learn anatomy that way? It really does work though. The hardest thing for me is to learn the origins and insertions of all of the muscles. There is something like 600 muscles; so right straight away there is 1200 facts that I have to be responsible for.
The ironic thing is that in a few years, I won't need to know eighty percent of this. Just mostly the anatomy of the head and neck.
Right now, despite the fact that it is a hundred degrees outside, I feel in my heart like it is October because I usually do alot of studying then. So when I go outside or look out of the blinds, I am kind of shocked that it is so hot out. It will be weird to be here when it is November. I wonder if it gets dark at three in the afternoon here? I don't know. It gets dark here early...like eight.
