..wow..

So much has happened in the past nine months. No, I'm not pregnant, sorry. But just wow. Even in the past week, my life has changed. There are new experiences that I face every day and numerous more to come. Some good, and some bad, but they all make me who I am right now and I don't regret anything, in fact, I'm thankful for them.

I joined this band called The Diamond Stretch and it's so much fun. All the guys are awesome and have become some of my good friends. I just showed up at one of their shows and it's like we instantly connected. I've played three shows with them so far and it's just great to get out my passion for music and play for people I don't know. Their whole goal is to be what every other band out there isn't, and that's exactly what I live for, to live outside the norm. It's wonderful.

I've been single for about seven months now. Sometimes it sucks, but the other night I was talking to a new friend of mine, and he was telling me how he is in this terrible situation now, because of his long term relationship. His advice "don't do (long term) until you're older, and more mature," and told me how he has been screwed over so many times. I kind of agree with him. These past seven months I have just been going with the flow, not forcing anything and letting things come to me. Yes.. I'm still single, but on the bright side, I haven't had my heart broken yet. I dunno how to explain it, but I'm satisfied, for now at least.

My new years resolution is to make a difference, every day. Whether that be volunteering, donating, cheering someone up, making someone smile, doing a favor for someone, I just want to make a difference. In the past, I have always put it in my mind that I'm a good person, but I never really took action. Well now, I'm taking action and I'm glad because of it.

My friends, I have grown close to some, and distant to others. My best friend only comes home once every few months, and it's difficult because we saw each other literally every day over the summer, and practically lived at each others houses, and even spent the night a few nights. We don't talk much now, and I know it's not on purpose, but now that she has a BF and is still adjusting to her new setting and school and everything, it just gets in the way of us, which is unfortunate, but what can you do. I know, or at least hope, that things will continue right were they left off when she comes back home over the summer. But for now, I am stuck with hanging out with random friends every night.

It's wonderful to see all the differences between my friends. I have preppy friends, younger friends, older friends, hipster friends, hippie friends, nerdy friends, and just plain weird friends, but the fact is, I enjoy every minute with them and am grateful for the different experiences I have had with them. Just sometimes I wish I could have one best friend I could always count on, to talk to when I'm angry, or to hang out with instead of wasting away online. Well, I do, but like I said, she's away at school.. and I have tried to find someone to kind of step up while shes gone, and no one seems to care as much as her, or at least that shows it. But anyways I'm just amazed at the different types of people I have met, even in the past week, and I'm having a great time in college.

Speaking of college, my classes are good and I have surprisingly gotten more done as far as studying and hw, now that I'm going out and living life, instead of being stuck at home, rotting away. Maybe it's inspiration, who knows? This week, I can't even remember what I did early in the week but anyways, I went and hung out with friends thurs/fri night, and had the will power to stay home all day today, and I got everything I needed to get done, done. Wonderful!

Newspaper has been great, too. My editor keeps remarking on how I keep writing better and better each article. Plus the whole fact that this whole semester is free for me, just as long as I turn in an article 600-800 words, every week. I'm still in shock of how I got the scholarship, I just walked in the office and asked to write or take photos for them and little did I know, I'm getting as close to a full ride as you can get. It's given me great experience, I started off as a sort of features writer, I guess, then did a music column, and now I'm writing about sports. I can't wait to see what's in store when I transfer. So many new opportunities!

I think that's all for now, let me know if you still read this thing..

Love.
