I love your writing style. The gruesomeness of the violence is a stunning contrast to the precision of the descriptions.

This passage, in particular, really struck me hard:

August is no different than July, only a little hotter; the Bodies of August are just like all the other bodies dropped in alleys and stuffed in corners and tossed into rivers, all the bodies lying before him in a zagging line waiting to be discovered, so long as he stays here.

The only body that's changed at all, really, is his own.

Oh, wow, splendidly written. So much atmosphere as well as character study, and I spent the whole time waiting for something horrible to happen - and then it was just as scary/creepy when nothing did. *Shudder*

Wow, fantastic writing on this. You capture both John and Sherlock so well. I love the way you've contrasted the horrible frequency of the crimes with the way John's life is normal - almost dull - at the time.
