Oh, I'm so thrilled you think the interaction between Lestrade and Mycroft worked! I figured that whole exchange would be like seeing the tip of the proverbial iceberg, and knowing there was so much more there, just under the surface. Not the easiest thing to try to convey! So I'm really pleased the "layers" seemed to be there.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting! I really do appreciate it.

powerful stuff, and so beautifully done - I was grateful for the humour here, which felt very necessary.

*applauds*

Oh my! Saying "your lovely feedback means so much to me" is such an understatement... well, I feel like Christ Farley in that skit when he slaps his forehead and says, "Stupid!" ;P ( ... )

Oh, this is a marvellous new instalment of your wonderful Sofie-verse.
I love it so much. Your attention to detail, your spot-on characters, your writing in general are just an absolute joy.
And Sherlock as Snape was the icing on the cake. lol Perfect.

Thank you!

Oh, it makes me so happy that you liked it! Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to know this worked for you - the characterizations, descriptions, etc.

I'm particularly tickled that you found Sherlock as Snape to be fitting. That's been brewing in my head ever since I first heard Benedict Cumberbatch's Alan Rickman impersonation. ;)

Thank you so much for reading and for leaving such encouraging feedback! I appreciate it.

lol That impression is forever stored in my brain.

I'm so glad that you showed Sherlock's caring side. There might not be many people he cares about, but when he does he is very generous. Like with Sofie here.

Aw, thank you! I agree: when he finds someone to care for, he's generous. (See Mrs Hudson, even in the very first episode: he's demonstrably affectionate to her, as early as that.) I think he'd find a kindred spirit in a child who asked questions, listened to the answers, and was generally interested in all that was going on around her.

I'm so happy this characterization seems right to you. Thank you!

God, I love this. Characterization on everyone is absolutely perfect, and it's both sad and desperately sweet at the same time.
