A very happy 202nd birthday to my favorite poet and short story writer, that master of the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe.
Favorite poem? At the moment, "The Conqueror Worm" (which I've memorized for fun XD), but I love "The Raven" so very, VERY much. And "To One in Paradise" (also memorized), and "The Bells". Favorite short story: THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH. OMG. I have this WONDERFUL audio recording of it on my iPod and I listen to it allll the time. I've loved this short story since I read it in high school--if you haven't read it, DO IT NOW. BEST CREEPY STORY EVER. Though I've listened to "The Black Cat" by the same narrator and I actually screamed at one part. LOVE that one too. That's how good Poe is. I have a whole playlist on le iPod called "An Evening With Mr. Poe" and just has hours of recordings of Poe works :D Thank you, Librivox.
I WISH I COULD TIME TRAVEL AND HUG HIM AND TELL HIM WHAT AN AWESOME PERSON HE WAS AND WHAT AN INSPIRATION AND WONDERFUL WRITER HE WAS AND HOW MUCH EVERYONE LOVES HIS POEMS AND SHORT STORIES AND HOW MUCH I ADMIRE HIS TALENT AND WORKS AND JUST THROW CONFETTI ALL OVER HIM. BLACK CONFETTI.
