There was so much ugly crying on my part. The more I watch it, the more I'm okay with it. Like, I *get* it. But I also think that hearing the EPs explain things is part of what MADE me get it and I think if you have to tell people about what your writing means, you didn't write it very well.
The closure thing is a part of the punishment for me. He doesn't get closure because he sucks so much as being a brother--it also made me think of the scene with him and Deb in the first ep of this season where she tells him that for all the time she thought she needed him, it's been the other way around. I think that made me accept his exile because he's realizing that she's right.
All this spin-off stuff, I was excited when I was thinking of all the things it could be, and then that was the ending and now I don't want to find out what anyone left is doing so I'm hoping they don't.
Except for the spin-off which I've been writing with my roommates called Life After Dexter, where MCH plays himself--a method actor whose repertoire is so steeped in death, he's actually found himself addicted to it and has been killing people in Hollywood (a la Dexter) and then going totally going David Fisher and taking care of the body. All while keeping things a secret from his agent. Basically a mini-series where he gets to be his crazy ass self. That's a spinoff I can support. Also Jennifer Carpenter is there because she needs to be in my life all the time.

Oooh, I like that. Nice catch.
I would totally watch that spin-off. And I agree about Jennifer Carpenter - I hope she gets the long and prosperous career that she deserves!
