It's dumb, but it matters.

Ok, Virginia Tech. So I'm from Maryland, the curved part that fits over VA. And I know a lot of kids there. Not that I like all of them (or that I'd want Matt Lippy to be shot, even if he did shove me against a locker and call me a Dyke once), but I like a lot of them, including my neighbor Laura, who owns, basically the entire county, and all the cows across the street from me, and the tree farm up the road.

Everyone from Linganore is (so far) okay. It was one of those situations where it was so surreal, I wasn't really... thinking about it.

I'm not one of those people who have immediate reactions to things. I didn't cry over September 11 until the one year anniversary. But that's just me.

The dean contacted Graphic Artists to make a banner (which means me, basically), 12 feet, for everyone to sign and for us to send over there. I don't know what to put on it.

People were suggesting things like "Pomona is sorry for your loss" or "We're thinking of you."

I know it's supposed to be simple and I shouldn't be thinking about it this much, but whatever I say is supposed to be coming from all 2,000 students and that's a lot of pressure.

Help?
