I was in this together with a friend, and we were both really excited to be a part of it. But we've suffered huge amounts of frustration and demotivation because of lack of mod involvement. Our fics have gone almost nowhere-I've written 500 words in the past fortnight and she's written maybe 1000 words.

Betas and cheerleaders haven't been matched up, and this is a huge killer on my motivation as well. I've been acting as muse/cheerleader for said friend for the past month, but where's the support for everyone else?

Another common complaint amongst people I've heard from is that questions on mod posts remain unanswered and offers of help with the comm have seemed to go unnoticed. You're hard to contact, and it's a bit of a vicious cycle trying to do so. It seems like we're bothering you when we have legitimate concerns.

There seems to be a lot of isolation, and big bangs shouldn't be about isolation. Yes, we've been sort-of writing, but we've also been worrying a lot about this comm.

So, what do we want you to do?

Be more active here. We want to know that you're around and involved and taking an interest. It seems as if this is a chore for you, and modding shouldn't be putting up a post on an expected date and then ignoring everything else. What's the point of putting in the effort involved in writing a 10000+ word fic if it seems that this boat is going to sink?

I apologise that you feel that way and I'm sorry if my actions have been the cause.

The beta matching was my fault and I'll get on that now. We don't have an official cheerleader post and we didn't last round either. I'm running this exactly the same way as I did last round - and we have a side comm for writers and authors both to get together and talk and cheerlead. This was never supposed to be an isolating experience, however, and I will do my best to make sure you don't feel that way again.

The sign-up form asked if we wanted cheerleaders. I declined, but there are quite a few who didn't. Has there been a severe collective misunderstanding concerning cheerleading, and if so, could you please clarify?

And thus is another issue brought up-things seem to be done only if you are contacted here or via Tumblr.

I regretfully withdraw from this fest as an authour, although I will finish the fic and post it elsewhere and I will still beta.

I understand and, again, I apologise. The beta thing was entirely my fault and I'm just sorry it's annoyed so many people. It wasn't a collective misunderstanding, it was me.
