I was born in a city and was raised there until middle school, but since then I've moved to suburbia and lost all of my "street smarts." :(
I have an interview at a coffee shop in a city nearby, and the place does not offer private lot. Seeing that I cannot parallel park for the sake of my life, I'd rather park at a pay parking lot nearby. My question is: how do I pay at the lot without making myself look like a total idiot? I don't have a credit card.

Do you actually pay in cash? The last time I went to the city, almost all lots required people to pay in credit cards, as they didn't have attendants. Sorry I sound so stupid, gahhh.

Most of the lots where I am don't have attendants, but you can still put cash in the machines. I've never heard of a lot that required a credit card, though I suppose it might be different where you are.

Bring both change and bills, because a lot of them will only take one or the other. What city?

I don't see how middle-school street smarts would have helped you parallel park, anyway. :-)
