But... but we don't need cast, per se. WE JUST WANT A BIG PARTY. We could get together and have metric fucktons of tea and jammy dodgers and dance awkwardly!
See post about the size of my house. :) I've managed 5 people dancing madly, drinking strange alcoholic concoctions, shouting at the telly and sofa surfing so far. I didn't even have complaints from the neighbours which surprised me. All in the name of sharing fandoms too.
We've had more than that in our apartment! We were playing Rock Band and only some of us were drunk, though.
... We should just randomly take over a hotel and pass it off as a business thing or something. And then use the conference rooms for watching fanvids and dancing like loons.
I'm in Amurrica, yeah. And the wilds of New England. But that also kind of works in my favor because there are fucktons of Victorian inns and buildings around here. It would work. Also one of the staff at the local bookstore (which is in a Victorian house and has an iron staircase!) LOVES Sherlock Holmes. If I arranged it, they would come.
I imagine it to be a bit like the convention in that episode of Supernatural, The Real Ghostbusters.
I'd probably have more people round but most of my fandom friends are scattered round the country and we don't even get to all the same cons any more, never mind to each other's houses!
After we've finished our Supernatural/Highlander exchange I'm planning on the 'how many versions of Sherlock Holmes can you watch in one night' thing.
Lali and I are going to a LOTR marathon with the sci fi society at uni tomorrow. It will be all the awesome. It sounds like we're going to be watching all the Avengers Prequels before Avengers Assemble comes out
LOTR marathon sounds cool, especially with Laligin (I have a great pic of her as Lancelot du Lac, me as Morgana and midnight as Morgause somewhere). I hope they're using the extended versions and not the theatrical releases though - much as I loved the films at the cinema, the extended versions are so much better (plus more Christopher Lee as Saruman which is never a bad thing).
I have no interest in the Hulk, but I adore the Iron Man films and have *ahem* obtained the other 2 Avengers team films to watch before May, *so* looking forward to the Avengers - it'll be one of those films I take myself to see on my own if I can't convince anyone else to go with me (like the Iron Man films were).
Theatrical release for the first two, because we can't have the room for long enough.
Superhero films aren't really my thing. Thor was entertaining, but not the sort of thing I'd want to rewatch. I just really want to see the new movie, and someone says I have to watch the others first.
I was looking at renting out a house for a gathering in the autumn, or booking a hotel's function rooms or something. We could organise a proper con ourselves.

Which begs the question: Is there a Sherlock con yet?
