Prompt:

John finally reaches the angry stage of the grieving process. In fact - angry doesn't quite cover it, he is absolutely furious. The thing is, it's not Sherlock he's furious at - it's Mycroft.

Ordinarily this wouldn't be a problem - there a plenty of people whose blood boils at the mere mention of Mycroft Holmes - the loss of John's esteem, though an unfortunate one, isn't a particularly nasty blow to someone like Mycroft.

The only problem is that he, who has also been left unaware of Sherlock's actual fate just like John, has not only reached the anger stage of grieving himself - but, just like John, blames himself entirely for what happens.

So when John comes to his front door, drunk and furious - he doesn't put up a fight, he takes everything the doctor's willing to dish out, gladly too.
And when he comes back a week later, just as drunk and just a mad - he takes it again. It's his penance you see.

tl;dr - John blames Mycroft for what happened to Sherlock. Mycroft blames himself too and willinginly takes whatever punishment John's prepared to dole out, whenever he doles it out.

Moriarty faked his own death too (I know this seems improbable, but run with it), and now that Sherlock isn't in his way (you choose if he knows Sherlock is alive or not; if he does, he knows he's somewhere Sherlock can't reach him) he decides that 'live-in' he wanted might as well be John.

There's a lovely prompt above about Sherlock disguising himself and interacting with the people he loves. I had a similar idea, except because I'm single-minded my idea was five times Sherlock (in disguise) comforted John after his 'death'.

I would REALLY like one of the times to be Sherlock stopping John from committing suicide.
